Why Mailtarn exists
Every product we build at Limenzy sends email: sign-ups, password resets, invoices, notifications. Each one has to be tested in development, staging and CI, and each test is a chance for a real customer to receive a message they should never see.
Local catchers worked on one laptop but not for a whole team, and rewriting recipients still meant sending through a real provider. We wanted one hosted place where every test email lands, nothing is ever delivered, and developers and QA look at the same message.
So we're building it, for our own projects first. When it works well for us, it will be ready for you.
- tarn /tɑːn/ · noun
- A small, still mountain lake. Water collects there and stays put. That's the idea behind the name: a quiet place where test email lands safely and goes no further.
