Look closer at every email your app sends.

Mailtarn is a hosted inbox for test email. Send from any environment, catch every message, and check it properly before it reaches a customer.

Features marked Planned come after the first release.

01

Catch everything, change nothing

Swap your SMTP settings. Your code stays the same.

  • Standard SMTP

Ports 587 (STARTTLS) and 465 (TLS). If your app can send email, it can send to Mailtarn.

  • Every message kept

Mailtarn confirms an email only after it's safely stored. Nothing is lost if a server restarts mid-send.

  • One inbox per environment

Keep dev, staging and CI separate, each with its own credentials.

  • Credential rotation

Issue a new password, and the old one keeps working for 24 hours while you update your config.

02

See what recipients see, and what they don't

Every part of the message, exactly as your app sent it.

  • HTML preview

The email rendered in an isolated sandbox, with remote images blocked until you load them.

  • Plain-text version

Check the fallback that many clients and spam filters read.

  • Headers

From, Reply-To, Message-ID, List-Unsubscribe and every other header, unedited.

  • Raw source

The full MIME message, ready to copy or download as .eml.

  • Attachments

Names, types and sizes, with one-click download.

  • Mobile and desktop widths

Preview at desktop, tablet and mobile widths.

  • Link and image checks Planned

Flag broken links, missing alt text and oversized images.

  • Deliverability hints Planned

Spot common problems before they reach production.

03

Find any message in seconds

Search the whole inbox, not just the last page.

  • Full-text search

Across subject, recipient, sender and body.

  • Filters

By inbox and attachments in the app. The API adds sender, recipient, subject and time.

  • Share a message Planned

Send a teammate or client a time-limited link to one email.

04

Assert on email in your tests

Check the email your test just triggered, in the same test.

  • REST API

List, fetch and delete messages from your test suite with scoped API tokens.

  • Wait for a message

Block a test until the expected email arrives, then read its links and one-time codes.

  • Send over HTTP

Post a message as JSON when SMTP isn't handy. It's captured like any other, never delivered.

  • Webhooks Planned

Get notified when mail lands in an inbox.

05

Ready for teams from day one

Everyone sees the same message, with the right access.

  • Organizations and roles

Invite teammates with a one-time link. Owner, admin, member and viewer roles decide who can change inboxes, projects, tokens and the team.

  • Two-factor sign-in

An authenticator app is required on every account.

  • Isolated by design

Each organization's data is kept separate, and email HTML is never rendered on the app's own domain.

  • Retention you control

Messages are deleted automatically after each project's retention period, 7 days unless you change it.

  • Audit log Planned

A record of sign-ins, invites and credential changes.
